The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued a stern warning to Ramdev, co-founder of Patanjali Ayurved, and Managing Director Balakrishna for disregarding its orders concerning the company’s misleading advertisements.
In a scathing rebuke, the apex court remarked that Patanjali’s advertisements are contrary to the country’s laws. “Be ready for action,” the Supreme Court cautioned Ramdev.

The NDTV quoted the Supreme Court as saying, “You should have made sure that the solemn undertaking should have been in letter and spirit. We can also say that we are sorry for not accepting it. Your apology is not persuading this court. It is more of a lip service.”
In response, the legal representatives of Ramdev and Balakrishna expressed willingness their willingness to offer personal apologies in court. “We want to apologise and are ready for whatever the court says,” stated the yoga guru’s lawyer, folding their hands in respect.
Furthermore, the Supreme Court criticized the government for inaction, remarking that they seemed to be turning a blind eye to the situation. “We are wondering why the government chose to keep their eyes shut,” the media house quoted the bench as saying.
The legal was battle initiated in November last year when the Supreme Court, hearing a petition filed by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), cautioned Patanjali Ayurved against disseminating “false” and “misleading” claims in its advertisements regarding its medicines.
The IMA cited several commercials allegedly tarnishing the image of allopathic doctors and medicine, misleading the public with derogatory statements.
The court had ordered Patanjali to cease all electronic and print advertisements containing misleading information about its medicines on February 27. Many of these ads had featured Ramdev himself.
