Hitting out at Congress during the rally, Azad said that he has given his blood to the party but forgot how he helped them.
Jammu: Ghulam Nabi Azad, a veteran leader who had parted his way from Congress after association of more than 50 years, on Sunday announced to form a new political party. The veteran leader, who had held top several positions including chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir in the past, announced the move during a mega rally at Jammu. He said that the name and flag of the party will be decided by people in the coming days.
“I will start a new party and the people will decide its name. I will give a Hindustani name to it so people can understand it. Our focus will be to take full statehood, right to land and employment to native domiciles.”
Hitting out at Congress during the rally, Azad said that he has given his blood to the party but forgot how he helped them. “Congress party was not made by computers but by us, our blood. Though the leaders are trying to defame us, the fact is that it has restricted itself to computers & tweets and that is the main reason that it is nowhere to be seen on the ground,” Azad said.
Meanwhile, taking dig at Ghulam Nabi Azad’s rally, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “We are talking about Congress rally and not BJP rally.”

Ramesh had earlier said that GNA’s DNA has been modi-fied. “A man who has been treated with the greatest respect by the Congress leadership has betrayed it by his vicious personal attacks which reveal his true character. GNA’s DNA has been modi-fied,” the Congress general secretary had said hours after Adaz’s resignation.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had also hit out at Azad saying, “I am sorry to read the judgment and statement of Ghulam Nabi Azad ji. Congress gave him respect and recognition. For 42 years he has not remained without office – his words are inappropriate, beyond my comprehension.”
Congress leader Supriya Shrinate had also targeted Azad by tweeting, “Ghulam Nabi Azad ji has mentioned only two coalition state governments – probably Jharkhand and Tamil Nadu. He forgot to mention Bihar or this letter was written before 9th August and is now being made public before Bharat Jodo Yatra?”
