The district is attracting huge investment as new industries are being established here, said Dr. Mahesh Sharma in the Parlliament.

New Delhi: Gautam Budh Nagar MP and former Union Minister Dr. Mahesh Sharma on Tuesday, during the discussion on the grants of the Ministry of Civil Aviation in the Parliament, said that in the 70 years of independence till 2014 only 75 airstrips were operational on which regular air service was available while today there are 130 airports in India with regular air service.
Dr. Sharma urged the Civil Aviation Minister, Jyotiraditya Scindia, to start 1-2 strips of Jewar airport by 2023 and demanded to speed up the construction of ‘mono rail’ between Delhi airport and Jewar airport.
“Our Prime Minister had a dream that even a man wearing Hawai Chappal could experience air travel, so this dream came true under the UDAN scheme. Our government has the foresight to promote tourism that today the Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram airport is going to be ready even before the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya.” The Gautam Buddh Nagar MP said, adding that “With the construction of Jewar airport, world famous religious and tourist places like Mathura, Vrindavan and Agra will be directly connected by air service. The goal of our government is to connect every religious and tourist area directly by air transport.”
He said that under the effective leadership of Prime Minister and UP Chief Minister, the state is attracting huge amount of foreign investment. Gautam Buddh Nagar is attracting huge investment as new industries are being established here.
