Vadodara: Chemical Factory in Gujarat’s Vadodara witnessed massive fire and explosion on Thursday. According to the reports, explosion occurred after the fire incident at Deepak Nitrite Company in Nandesari GIDC.
Video emerged on various social media platforms can be seen several explosion noises, rising smoke and dense cloud in the sky. To control the situation, fire fighters rushed at the spot but exact cause of explosion yet to be known.
According to the fire officials, a powerful explosion occurred when the fire started spreading in the factory during the evening hours. More than half dozen employees of the factory were shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment as they reportedly inhaled smoke. An ambulance was also deployed outside the company premises while team of healthcare professionals were also rushed to provide medical treatment to the employees.

According to the district officials, though there is no injury but seven people were shifted to hospital after inhaling smoke generated from the factory fire. To avoid any untoward incident, nearby residents were taken to a safer place.
Deepak Nitrite, the company which witnessed the fire incident, said to monitor the situation. It added that priority is to ensure safety and security of its employees working there and the area residents living in close proximity. “All our manufacturing facilities are equipped with best-in-class systems and equipment that ensure environmentally sustainable production. Our teams are already on-ground facilitating every possible support. Our communication channels are open 24×7, and we shall continue to provide updates and partner closely with all the relevant external stakeholders,” the company said in a statement.
