Khan was taken into police custody on Thursday during demolition clashes in Madanpur Khadar area.
New Delhi: A day after the arrest of Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan in connection with the protest against South Delhi Municipal Corporation’s demolition drive, Delhi Police has declared him a history-sheeter, ‘bad character’.
Khan was taken into police custody on Thursday during demolition clashes in Madanpur Khadar area. The law enforcement agency has reportedly reviewed pending cases against him in various police stations and declared him ‘Bad Character of Jamia Nagar area.’ He along with few of his associates were arrested by the police while obstructing government works and engaging with them.
Opposing the demolition drive of the BJP-ruled civic agency in the city, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the drive must be stopped. The Deputy CM also wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah in this regard. He said that the BJP leaders have crossed lengths to run its ‘cheap’ bulldozer politics in Delhi despite its period being over in corporations.
“BJP’s conspiracy to recover from bulldozers in Delhi. BJP has a plan of destruction on 63 lakh houses. 60 lakh houses are in raw colonies and slums and three lakh houses in pucca colonies. BJP’s message to these 63 lakh families is clear – either give money or be ready to be destroyed by bulldozers,” twitted Sisodia.
