Delhi logs 1365 new Covid cases: positivity stands at 6.35%

New Delhi: The national capital on Thursday reported 1365 COVID-19 cases with no death, while the positivity rate stood at 6.35 per cent, according to data shared by the health department.

With these new cases, the national capital’s overall tally has increased to 18,85,636, while the death toll stands at 26,177.

Delhi on Tuesday reported 1414 COVID-19 cases with one death, while the positivity rate stood at 5.97 per cent.

Delhi on Monday reported 1,076 COVID-19 cases with no death, while the positivity rate stood at 6.42 per cent. On Sunday, the city recorded 1,485 cases and no death due to the disease, while the positivity rate stood at 4.89 per cent. On Saturday, it had recorded 1,520 cases and one death, with the positivity rate at 5.10 per cent.

A total of 16,753 Covid tests were conducted in the city on Sunday, according to the latest health bulletin.

The Delhi government has increased the number of beds dedicated to Covid patients at two of its facilities, including an 80 percent escalation in its count at the Lok Nayak (LNJP) Hospital.

The Delhi government also made masks mandatory at public places with immediate effect and imposed a fine of Rs 500 for any violation as covid cases rise in the city again.

However, those traveling together in a private four-wheeler are out of the purview of the new rule, according to an order issued by the city’s Health and Family Welfare Department.
