The NGT order comes days after TikTok star-turned BJP leader Sonali Phogat was allegedly drugged at a party along with her associates at Curlie’s. Hours later after the incident, Phogat breathed her last.
Panaji: The iconic Curlie’s restaurant in Goa will soon be demolished for allegedly flouting coastal zone regulations. This came after the National Green Tribunal (NGT) upheld the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority’s earlier order to demolish the shack.
The NGT order comes days after TikTok star-turned BJP leader Sonali Phogat was allegedly drugged at a party along with her associates at Curlie’s. Hours later after the incident, Phogat breathed her last.
Earlier, the order to demolish the structure was first passed by the Goa coastal authority in July. The green court was hearing an appeal challenging the GCZMA order directing the razing of Curlie’s.
Meanwhile, the co-owner of the shack, Linet Nunes, had filed a petition before the NGT after taking the matter to the Bombay High Court in Goa and then to the Supreme Court.

Days after Sonali Phogat’s death, Goa police had registered a murder case after her family members raised doubts on the two associates who accompanied the BJP to Goa.
Talking to the media, Phogat’s brother Watan Dhaka had said, “I got a call from her (Sonali Phogat) assistant at 8 am yesterday (Tuesday). Later, the assistant said she fell ill around 2 am in the night. Why did he not call us then? Every time he spoke, he gave different statements. This is why we feel there’s something wrong.”
He had also said that the last time she spoke to Phogat, the politician was feeling uneasy. “As if something had been added to her food. She had told our mother that she would go to the hospital,” Dhaka was quoted by the media.
