The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to be held in seven phases, commencing on April 19, with results expected to be announced on June 4.

Recently, the Income Tax Department has issued a notice amounting to Rs 1,700 crore to the Congress party, including penalties and interest, for the assessment years spanning from 2017-18 to 2020-21. This notice follows the Delhi High Court’s rejection of the Congress party’s appeals against tax reassessment proceedings initiated by the Income Tax department.

Confirmation of this development was provided by Congress leader Vivek Tankha. This significant tax notice underscores the ongoing legal and financial challenges faced by the Congress party, as it navigates through various legal proceedings and financial matters.
