Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday praised the Border Security Force (BSF) for executing one of the most devastating operations along the India-Pakistan border in recent history. During his two-day visit to the Jammu region, Shah revealed that over 118 forward Pakistani posts were destroyed during Operation Sindoor, effectively crippling Pakistan’s surveillance and communication infrastructure.
Calling the outcome a “historic military and intelligence success,” Shah emphasized that it would take Pakistan several years to rebuild the damaged surveillance network, which played a critical role in cross-border infiltration and information warfare.

Pakistan’s Surveillance Crushed in Four Days of Precision Strikes
“During Operation Sindoor, the BSF retaliated decisively to Pakistan’s aggression by destroying more than 118 of their posts and surveillance installations,” Amit Shah said during his address in Poonch, close to the Line of Control (LoC).
“When Pakistan tried to attack our borders and civilian areas in response to our anti-terror strikes, it was the brave jawans of the BSF’s Jammu Frontier who dealt a stunning blow. They dismantled surveillance systems, radar outposts, and communication lines piece by piece — a system that will take them at least four to five years to rebuild,” he declared.
According to internal intelligence inputs shared by the BSF Director General, Pakistan’s communication and surveillance architecture has suffered its biggest-ever operational loss, rendering it incapable of sustaining an information-led military strategy for the foreseeable future.

Amit Shah Lauds BSF’s Preparedness and Patriotism
Highlighting the role of intelligence preparedness and strategic planning, Shah said the BSF did not wait for war to act. “Even in peacetime, you maintained vigilance. With accurate intelligence and swift strategy, you executed a highly effective preemptive strike.”
“Such outcomes only come from deep patriotism,” he said. “Bravery like this comes when there is a sense of duty, pride in the nation, and a readiness for supreme sacrifice.”
The Home Minister reiterated that BSF jawans are India’s first line of defence, operating with unwavering commitment across deserts, forests, mountains, and treacherous terrains. “Whenever there’s an attack on Indian borders — overt or covert — the BSF is the first to respond.”
Visit to Poonch Amid Harsh Weather Conditions
Shah also visited Poonch, where he interacted with jawans and met civilians affected by recent shelling and damage to religious places, including temples, gurudwaras, and mosques. “Despite bad weather, I was determined to meet our troopers personally. I took the road and did not return until I met them,” he said, crediting divine grace for a sudden improvement in weather that allowed the visit to go ahead.
He expressed gratitude to the BSF on behalf of the Government of India and all citizens, noting that the respect and cheer the force receives is equal to that of the Indian Army.
“This is a matter of great national pride. The sacrifices of BSF jawans will always be remembered as a symbol of India’s unwavering resolve to protect its sovereignty,” Shah concluded.
