Several schools in Delhi and Noida were evacuated on Wednesday following bomb threat emails, prompting police to conduct extensive search operations. While no suspicious items have been found yet, authorities remain vigilant.
Delhi Police spokesperson Suman Nalwa reassured parents, urging them not to panic as the situation was being handled with appropriate measures. Efforts are underway to trace the origin of the bomb threat emails, including attempts to identify the IP address of the sender.
The bomb threat affected schools such as Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri, Mother Mary School in Mayur Vihar, and Delhi Public School in Dwarka, among others. Over 60 schools reportedly received similar threatening emails claiming the presence of explosives on their premises.
Mother Mary School had to halt an ongoing exam and evacuate immediately, declaring an emergency as per safety protocols. Delhi Public School informed parents of the situation and sent students home as a precautionary measure.

Visuals from the affected schools in Delhi showed concerned parents rushing to pick up their children after the evacuation orders were issued. The deployment of bomb detection teams, bomb disposal squads and fire service officials underscored the seriousness of the situation.
In response to the incident, Delhi Education Minister Atishi confirmed the bomb threat and assured that nothing suspicious had been discovered in any of the schools during the searches. She emphasised the ongoing coordination with police and school authorities to manage the situation effectively.
This incident comes after a similar hoax bomb threat at Delhi Police School in RK Puram earlier this year. Such incidents highlight the challenges faced by educational institutions and law enforcement agencies in dealing with security threats, necessitating swift and coordinated responses to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Atishi’s message on social media urged parents and citizens to remain calm while authorities conducted thorough searches. The prompt evacuation and search operations demonstrate the proactive measures taken by authorities to address the threats and ensure the security of school premises.
