Earlier on Monday, TMC Supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had accused BJP of branding everybody as ‘thieves’.
Kolkata: After seven hours of questioning by Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the coal smuggling case, TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee on Friday sharpened its attack on BJP. The Lok Sabha MP from Diamond Harbour said that the BJP is misusing central agencies and is trying to topple state governments where it lost. Banerjee was talking to the media after appearing before the probe agency.
Hitting out at the Centre, the TMC leader MP said that this is not a coal scam or cattle smuggling scam but this is home minister scam. Banerjee said that who protects these institutions? Who is responsible for what goes on in our borders? No one but the home minister.
He said that the BJP has been trying to destabilise state governments where they failed to get a mandate. It have been trying to topple the Jharkhand government as it did not get a mandate. It failed in their attempt in West Bengal because of Mamata Banerjee. Since it cannot fight politically, it is misusing central agencies.
“I will not sell my spine to anybody; our voices of dissent will only grow louder and clearer. I have utmost faith in a certain section of Judiciary, not all of it. Someone has to bell the cat. I believe justice will prevail when the day comes,” Banerjee added.
