The Bhopal Police managed to track down a mobile phone of one of the victims which the serial killer had stolen.

Bhopal: A serial killer, who was caught in Bhopal who murdered four security guards in their sleep, claimed he was inspired by the movie KGF and wanted to be famous. The 19-year-old youth was identified as Shiv Prasad and the police have now released a CCTV footage showing him kill one of his victims.
The police managed to track down a mobile phone of one of the victims which Prasad had stolen. In the CCTV footage, Prasad is seen clad in shorts and a shirt. He is also seen striking his victim and then bashing his head with a stone.
The police said Prasad was inspired by KGF, a Kannada movie revolving around an assassin. The police also revealed that the serial killer, who only struck at night, had planned to kill cops next.
In three nights, Prasad killed three guards in Sagar and on Thursday night, he killed one more in Bhopal. A police officer said, “Since his only target was to become famous, he only attacked sleeping security guards.”

The young killer used the “stoneman” killing pattern which sparked fears. Detailing out the murders, the police said on Thursday night Prasad killed 23-year-old Sonu Verma with a marble rod. Verma worked at a marble shop. The police added that Prasad started his killing spree in Sagar, around 170 km from Bhopal.
On August 28, he killed a guard at a factory by smashing his head with a hammer. The guard was identified as Kalyan Lodhi. The next night, 60-year-old Shambhu Narayan Dube, a security guard at an arts and commerce college, was killed with a stone. The next day Prasad killed Mangal Ahirwar, a watchman at a house.
