Ashish Kumar, who is posted as an SP in Motihari (East Champaran), has launched initiatives by introducing the ‘Police Aapke Dwar programme’ for on the spot redressal of grievances.
Motihari: Famous for his innovative approach to deal with the problem of liquor menace and uses of other narcotic substances among the youth, Kumar Ashish, a 2012 batch Bihar cadre IPS officer has won the hearts of people by implementing a range of social welfare schemes to ensure a close bond between the police and the public.
The IPS officer, who was awarded by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his extraordinary efforts to prohibit the consumption of liquor and for running an awareness campaign against drugs in Kishanganj district of Bihar, left no stone unturned to provide people respite by implementing various social welfare schemes and controlling criminal activities.
Ashish, who is posted as an SP in Motihari (East Champaran), has launched initiatives by introducing the ‘Police Aapke Dwar’ programme for on the spot redressal of grievances with an aim at bridging the gap between the public and the police.
Praising the SP for his efforts, a tweeter user said, “This is the only fear that is there in this lovely girl, there should be in the public also after seeing the police… The only condition is that every policeman @ipskumarashish should be like brother.
“The general public had lost faith in the police station, people started to feel that the police station has become a den of money and power, but after the arrival of @ipskumarashish sir, people are saluting the police, Captain for giving such assurance Thank you very much sir from the eternal depths of my heart,” said another Twitter user Vijay Prakash.
“If someone had a problem, then no one wanted to go to the police station, everyone was afraid that after going to the police station, they would not get justice and all that we have would be sold but some would not fill the stomach of the thieves. Thanks to @ipskumarashish for this, who removed these fears from the public,” said Twitter user Gyan Kumar tweeted.
During his tenure in Kishanganj as an SP, Kumar Ashish had implemented a new system and communicated with all their station heads, circle inspectors every week through the virtual medium for quick redressal of complaints. The move was taken to solve the problems of the complainants without even visiting the police station.
