Patna: At least six persons were killed while eight others were injured in a firecracker explosion in Chhapra district on Sunday. According to the reports, firecracker explosion took place in a businessman house Khudai Bagh village in Khaira police station in the district. The explosion caused a portion of the house to blow up while the other part caught fire
According to the reports, the businessman was identified as Shabir Hussain. Police said that businessman’s house is made near riverbank due to which its major portion collapsed. Due to the house collapse, as many as eight people trapped inside debris. They were rescued immediately and were taken to the nearby hospital for further treatment.
According to the local police, “A blast in a businessman’s house in Chhapra caused death of six persons. Since, some portion of the house collapsed and people trapped inside the debris, rescue operation has been launched to save people. Reason behind explosion is yet to be ascertained. Forensic team and Bomb disposal squad have also been called. Police also added that firecrackers were made inside the house where the blast took place and explosions were heard continuously nearly 60 minutes.
