The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a whopping Rs.58 crore cash reward for the Indian cricket team after their dominant title-winning campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Rohit Sharma-led side remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, sealing the trophy with a comfortable victory over New Zealand in the final.
According to the official BCCI release, the reward will benefit “the players, coaching and support staff, and members of the men’s selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar.” Notably, the cash prize announced by the BCCI is three times the official prize money of the tournament.
“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is delighted to announce a cash reward of INR 58 Crore for Team India following their triumph at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This financial recognition honours the players, coaching and support staff and members of the Men’s Selection Committee,” the statement read.
India’s Dominating Run in Champions Trophy 2025
India, under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, delivered a flawless performance in the tournament, winning all their matches. Their campaign began with a six-wicket win over Bangladesh, followed by another six-wicket victory against Pakistan. The Men in Blue continued their dominance with a 44-run win over New Zealand in the group stage and edged past Australia by four wickets in the semi-final.

BCCI President Roger Binny praised the team’s efforts, stating, “Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special and this reward recognises Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage. The cash award is a recognition of the hard work that everyone puts in behind the scenes. This was also our second ICC Trophy in 2025, following the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup triumph, and it highlights the strong cricketing ecosystem in place in our country.”
