All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly condemned Pakistan’s attempt to frame its conflict with India as a Hindu-Muslim issue, asserting that more than 240 million proud Muslims live peacefully in India and that the country is home to world-class Islamic scholars.
Owaisi made these remarks during an Indian parliamentary delegation’s visit to Saudi Arabia, part of the government’s global outreach initiative in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. The delegation, led by BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda, also includes MPs from BJP and nominated representatives.
“It is most unfortunate that Pakistan spreads a false message to the Arab and Muslim world that India is not a country for Muslims,” Owaisi said during a public interaction. “India has 240 million proud Muslims, many of whom are respected Islamic scholars, fluent in Arabic and globally recognized for their contributions.”
Calling out Pakistan’s attempt to create a Hindu-Muslim binary, he added, “This is propaganda. The problem is not that India is anti-Muslim. The problem is that Pakistan continues to support terrorism, which destabilizes South Asia.”
Pakistan’s Terror Links, FATF Grey List, and 26/11 Trial
Owaisi also accused Pakistan of openly sheltering terrorists, noting that US-designated terrorist Mohammad Ehsan was recently seen sitting beside Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir, with photographic evidence to support the claim.

“Pakistan must be brought back to the FATF grey list. That is how we can stop this terror financing. These terror groups are being trained there, funded there, and their mission is to destabilize India and spark Hindu-Muslim riots,” he said.
Referencing the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, Owaisi highlighted how the Indian government under Dr. Manmohan Singh had handed over compelling evidence to Pakistan, yet no real progress was made in the trials.
“Pakistan only took steps when they were greylisted by FATF. For example, they claimed Sajid Mir was dead, but under FATF scrutiny, they admitted he was alive and later convicted him—not for terrorism, but for money laundering,” Owaisi said.
“India Could Have Destroyed Airbases”: Asaduddin Owaisi on Operation Sindoor
In a direct warning to Pakistan over continued provocations, Owaisi said nine of Pakistan’s airbases were targeted during Operation Sindoor, but India restrained from full destruction.

“If India wanted, we could have obliterated those airbases. But we only wanted to show them a mirror. It was a warning—don’t force us to go down that path,” he added.
He also revealed that nine terrorist headquarters were targeted and that a terrorist funeral prayer was led by a US-designated terrorist, exposing deep-rooted connections between Pakistan’s military and extremist groups.
Global Delegation Pushes for India’s Narrative in Islamic World
The Indian delegation, comprising MPs Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, Rekha Sharma, nominated MP Satnam Singh Sandhu, and former diplomat Harsh Vardhan Shringla, has visited Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria, engaging with officials and influential Islamic leaders to present India’s side of the story in the wake of Operation Sindoor.
