Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is set to spend the next fortnight behind bars following the conclusion of his custody by the Enforcement Directorate on Monday.
The investigative agency opted not to pursue further custody of the AAP leader. Consequently, a local court, earlier this morning, ordered his incarceration until April 15.
In a gesture of leniency, the court granted permission for Arvind Kejriwal to meet with his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, as well as ministers Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj, prior to his transfer to Tihar Jail.
Kejriwal’s arrest on March 21, linked to an alleged liquor policy scandal, ensued after he ignored nine summonses from central agencies.
Despite his detention, Arvind Kejriwal has been overseeing governmental affairs from within the confines of the Enforcement Directorate’s detention facility.
