Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and a key accused in multiple high-profile criminal cases, has been deported from the United States and brought back to India. Shortly after his arrival, he was formally arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and produced before Delhi’s Patiala House Court.
Officials confirmed that Anmol, originally from Fazilka in Punjab, is among 200 Indian nationals being repatriated by US authorities, including fugitives wanted in Punjab.
Anmol faces around 18 criminal cases across India. His alleged involvement spans some of the most widely reported crimes in recent years.
The NIA is currently focusing on his suspected role in:
- The murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique in 2024
- The killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala in 2022
- The firing incident outside actor Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence
According to investigators, Anmol operated from abroad using encrypted channels. His name surfaced repeatedly in conspiracies linked with the Lawrence Bishnoi–Goldy Brar network.
Fake Passport Trail and US Arrest
After Moose Wala’s murder in 2022, Anmol reportedly escaped India using a forged passport, travelling through multiple countries before reaching the United States. His asylum plea was rejected last week, sealing his fate.
He was arrested in the US last year for allegedly travelling with fake documents—a development that eventually led to his removal from American soil.

India had formally requested his extradition in January last year after the NIA filed a chargesheet against him in 2023. The agency alleged that Anmol helped Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi in organising terror-linked operations between 2020 and 2023.
A senior NIA source said, “His deportation gives us direct access to crucial evidence about cross-border coordination, extortion, and targeted killings.”
With his custody secured, the NIA is expected to seek extended remand to interrogate Anmol on his international links, communication channels, and financing networks. His statements are likely to be central to ongoing investigations involving the Bishnoi syndicate.
