Amid the ongoing flight disruptions caused by a shortage of cabin crew, Air India Express has agreed to withdraw the termination letters issued to more than 25 affected members.
This development follows a conciliation meeting held earlier at the Office of the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) in New Delhi, where cabin crew representatives and the management of the Air India Express discussed the issues at hand.
Additionally, the protesting cabin crew have reportedly ended their strike after the airline management committed to address their concerns.
The situation escalated after over 170 Air India Express flights were cancelled since Tuesday night due to the cabin crew crisis. The airline had terminated the services of approximately 25 senior cabin crew members in response to a mass sick leave taken by over a hundred senior cabin crew on Wednesday.

The termination letters issued to the cabin crew accused the Air India Express of causing embarrassment, reputational damage and monetary loss to the airline through their actions. The airline highlighted the sudden sick leave as a premeditated and concerted abstention from work without a valid cause.
With discussions ongoing and a commitment to resolve the issues, the situation is expected to stabilize as both parties work towards a resolution.
Following disruptions caused by a mass sick leave by its employees, Air India Express, a subsidiary of Air India now owned by the Tata group, had earlier in the day terminated a few cabin crew members.
The management had also issued an ultimatum to the employees to return to work by 4 pm or be prepared to face consequences. These developments occurred against a backdrop of protests by the crew against the new employment terms, alleging unfair treatment and modifications in their compensation package.
Sources indicated that the crew members have expressed concerns about unequal treatment, with some allegedly being offered lower job roles despite clearing interviews for senior positions.
