Two Agniveers tragically lost their lives when a shell from an Indian field gun exploded during a routine firing practice at the Artillery Centre in Nashik’s Deolali area on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred during a training exercise, where a team of Agniveers was engaged in field gun firing practice.
According to police officials, the duo sustained severe injuries from the blast and were immediately rushed to MH Hospital in Deolali. Despite efforts to save them, they were pronounced dead upon arrival.
Ongoing Investigation
A case of accidental death has been registered based on a complaint lodged by Havildar Ajit Kumar with the Deolali Camp police. Further investigations into the incident are underway, as authorities seek to determine the exact cause of the shell explosion.
