Four hospitals in Delhi received bomb threat calls on Tuesday morning, adding to the wave of hoax bomb threats that have been troubling the national capital and other major Indian cities in recent weeks.
The Delhi State Cancer Institute near GTB Hospital, Dada Dev Hospital in Dabri, Hedgewar Hospital, and Deep Chandra Bandhu Hospital were all targeted, according to the Delhi Fire Department. Authorities are currently verifying the credibility of these threats.
This spate of bomb hoaxes comes at a time of heightened security across the country due to the ongoing elections.
Just weeks earlier, on May 1, nearly 100 schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) received bomb threat emails, causing widespread panic among school administrations and parents.

On May 6, seven schools in Ahmedabad were also targeted with bomb threat emails, which were traced to servers with Russian IP addresses. Bomb disposal squads searched the premises but found no suspicious materials.
The pattern of threats continued as Delhi’s airport and several other major hospitals received similar bomb threat emails on Sunday, all of which were later determined to be fake.
The escalation in bomb hoaxes has prompted security forces to conduct drills at key locations to ensure preparedness. On Monday, four schools in Jaipur were evacuated after receiving bomb threats via email. Students were sent home, and bomb squads along with sniffer dogs were deployed to search the premises.
These recurring threats have created a sense of unease, prompting authorities to remain on high alert while attempting to identify the sources of these hoax communications.
As the situation develops, security measures are expected to be tightened further to safeguard public institutions and ensure the safety of citizens.
The Delhi Fire Department and other emergency services continue to respond promptly to each threat, aiming to maintain public calm and prevent disruptions caused by these false alarms.
