The ADR has also said that four Rajya Sabha MPs have declared cases related to crimes against women. Out of four MPs, one Rajya Sabha MP namely KC Venugopal of Congress from Rajasthan has declared case related to rape (IPC Section-376).

New Delhi: Association of Democratic Research (ADR) has analysed that out of the 226 Rajya Sabha MPs, 71 or 31 per cent Rajya Sabha MPs have declared criminal cases against themselves. 37 Rajya Sabha MPs have declared serious criminal cases while two Rajya Sabha MPs have declared cases related to murder (IPC section 302). It has further said that four Rajya Sabha MPs have declared cases related to attempt to murder (IPC Section 307) against themselves.

It has further analysed that 20 out of 85 Rajya Sabha MPs from BJP, 12 out of 31 Rajya Sabha MPs from Congress, three out of 13 Rajya Sabha MPs from AITC, five out of 6 Rajya Sabha MPs from RJD, four out of five Rajya Sabha MPs from CPI (M), three out of 10 Rajya Sabha MPs from AAP, three out of nine Rajya Sabha MPs from YSRCP and two out of four Rajya Sabha MPs from NCP have declared criminal cases against themselves in their affidavits.
The analysis has revealed that nine out of 85 Rajya Sabha MPs from BJP, eight out of 31 Rajya Sabha MPs from INC, one out of 13 Rajya Sabha MPs from AITC, three out of six Rajya Sabha MPs from RJD, two out of 5 Rajya Sabha MPs from CPI(M), one out of 10 Rajya Sabha MPs from AAP, three out of 9 Rajya Sabha MPs from YSRCP and one out of four Rajya Sabha MPs from NCP have declared serious criminal cases against themselves in their affidavits.
