Hyderabad: Barely two days after he was granted bail, Hyderabad BJP MLA T Raja Singh was once again arrested on Thursday, hours after he released a new video on “communal atmosphere”, despite the court asking him not to upload any other video.

In the new video, Singh is heard saying, “Police in Telangana are puppets in the hands of Asaduddin Owaisi…Owaisi’s supporters have been given a free hand to throw stones…no FIR, no arrest.” Singh also accused Owaisi’s supporters of targeting places of worship. The MLA was seemingly hinting at the massive protests to demand his arrest after he had allegedly used derogatory comments against Prophet Muhammad.

Singh went ahead to call Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao an atheist “who believes in no religion” and said his party “plays the game of Muslim vote-bank” along with Owaisi.

“Let me tell you the reason behind the communal tension in Telangana. There’s this stand-up comedian called Munawar Faruqui. Three months ago we had got his show in Hyderabad cancelled, with the police’s support,” Raja Singh said.

He further said, Faruqui contacted K T Rama Rao on Twitter who invited him, gave him police protection to hold his show. “I was arrested. Deploying 5,000 cops, including four IPS officers, he (Faruqui) held the programme successfully,” he said, adding, “KTR allowed Munawar Faruqui to make jokes about our gods…while beating Ram bhakts outside.”

Hours after his arrest for his derogatory comments on Prophet Muhammad, the BJP on Tuesday expelled T Raja Singh, an MLA in Hyderabad. The party also gave him 10 days’ time and asked him to reply to a showcause on why he should not be expelled from BJP.

A day after Singh released a derogatory video on Prophet Muhammad, on Tuesday morning, the Hyderabad Police arrested him. On Monday, the city marked protests against Singh’s comments in some pockets, including, in front of Hyderabad Police Commissioner C V Anand’s office.
