West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee asserted that they are not just the opposition party, but they are also the citizen of the country who loves to chant ‘Bharat Mata’.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday assured that as many as 17 opposition parties will fight unitedly to defeat saffron party in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024, following an opposition party meet in Patna.
Addressing the meeting post four-hour opposition party meeting, Bihar CM informed that the leaders of all the 17 parties will again hold a meeting in the near future to chalk out the final strategy for election.
Kumar said that the meeting was successful and several leaders expressed their views, while keeping aside the differences. “17 parties came to the conclusion that they will fight unitedly in the upcoming lok sabha elections,” he said.
Kumar also stated that the parties are working in the national interest of the country and alleged that the BJP is acting against the national interests and they are trying to change the history.
Apart from this, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge informed the timing of the next meeting saying that the next meeting of the opposition parties will be held in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, next month.
“We have decided to draw up a common agenda for all the 17 parties and will take the decision regarding the same in the next meeting. We will fight the elections together to dethrone the saffron party at the centre,” Kharge added.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said, “We may have some differences but at this meeting we all have to decided to work with flexibility and work to safeguard our ideology.”
Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that the reason behind conducting the first opposition party meet in Patna is that whatever starts from this state, takes the shape of public movement.
“We all are united and will fight unitedly against BJP,” Mamta said adding that the saffron party wants to change history of the country but we will together refrain that from happening.
West Bengal CM also asserted that they their identity is not just the opposition party, but they are also the citizen of the country who had patriotism and love to chant ‘Bharat Mata’.
