New Delhi: Ace footballer and Manchester United’s striker Cristiano Ronaldo on Monday took to social media and announced that he and his partner Georgina Rodriguez’s newborn baby boy has passed away.
In an Instagram post, the footballer wrote, “It is with our deepest sadness that we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away.”
The post added, “Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support.”
The post, which was also signed by Georgina, added, “We are devastated at this loss and ask for privacy at this difficult time. Our boy, you are our angel. We will love you forever.”
Meanwhile, condolences poured in from across the world, including his team Manchester United. Taking to Twitter, the official handle of the team shared Ronaldo’s Instagram post and wrote, “Your pain is our pain, @Cristiano 💔 Sending love and strength to you and the family at this time.”
According to reports, the couple was expecting twins and had announced it around October last year. While the baby girl survived, their son could not survive.
Ronaldo is already father to four children, twins Eva Maria and Mateo, eldest son Cristiano Junior and the youngest, Alana Martina.
