A tragic bus accident near Uttarakhand’s Bhimtal town on Wednesday resulted in the loss of four lives and injuries to more than 24 passengers. Among the injured, several are reported to be in critical condition.
The bus, traveling from Almora to Haldwani, lost control and plunged into a 1,500-foot deep gorge near Bhimtal. The impact caused many passengers to be thrown out of the vehicle, leading to severe injuries.
Rescue operations are in full swing, with police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams, fire officials, and local residents working tirelessly to pull survivors out of the gorge using ropes. Fifteen ambulances have been dispatched from Haldwani to assist in the rescue and transport operations.
Medical Response
All injured passengers have been rushed to nearby hospitals in Bhimtal for treatment. Emergency medical teams are attending to the critically injured to stabilize their condition.

The accident came a day after five Army jawans were killed in an accident after a truck fell into a gorge in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Several other soldiers were reportedly injured in the accident.
