New Delhi: Amid massive outrage over the killing of a young girl by the son of Uttarakhand BJP leader and former minister, the party on Saturday expelled him along with his another son who is brother of the accused. The party, while taking action after backlash, expelled the BJP leader Vinod Arya and his another son Ankit Arya from primary membership.
The district authorities have also taken action against the resort by bulldozing some parts of it. It was reported that Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had ordered the civic agency to carry out demolition after reports of violation of building norms.
Angry locals set the resort on fire seeking strict action against the accused involved in the murder of young girl. Protesters also assaulted the arrested accused before the cops managed to take them away. They also damaged the vehicle of area MLA Renu Bisht. The police, however, evacuated the MLA safely from the car.
The Uttarakhand police has already arrested the accused Pulkit Arya and his associates involved in murder of the 19-year-old receptionist at his resort in Pauri district near Rishikesh. As per the report, the resort is located at the outskirts of the town.
According to the report, the accused Pulkit Araya, himself, had reported to police about the missing girl. The girl’s family had also approached police to lodge a missing complaint. During the investigation, it was revealed that Pulkit and two of his staff are involved in murder of the girl. The three were arrested later by the police.
Investigating further, the police found the girl’s body from a canal. The police has been investigating the prostitution angle in this case as allegations are being made that the girl was being forced into prostitution and she was murdered after her denial. Meanwhile, there has been no official confirmation in this regard.
Accused Pulkit Arya’s father Vinod Arya is a senior BJP leader and was holding a state minister’s rank without a post in the government. After the revelation of the case, he was sacked from all posts including state minister and action was also taken against his other son.
