Police sources said Kekda was the one to inform Goldy Brar and his team about Sidhu Moosewala driving his non-bulletproof Mahindra Thar car.
Chandigarh: The Punjab Police on Tuesday said they have arrested at least eight persons for playing some role in the murder of Sidhu Moosewala. The police also said that one among the eight arrested impersonated as Moosewala’s fan and had clicked a selfie with the singer outside his home moments before Sidhu Moosewala was killed.
In a statement, the Punjab Police said, “The arrested have been identified as Sandeep Singh alias Kekda of Sirsa, Haryana; Manpreet Singh alias Manna of Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda; Manpreet Bhau of Dhaipai, Faridkot; Saraj Mintu of village Dode Kalsia, Amritsar; Prabhdeep Sidhu alias Pabbi of Takhat-Mall, Haryana; Monu Dagar of village Rewli in Sonipat, Haryana; Pawan Bishnoi and Naseeb, both residents of Fatehabad, Haryana. The police have also identified four shooters involved in the crime.”
A top Punjab Police officer said Kekda was allegedly taking instructions from Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar and Sachin Thapan, who claims to be jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s nephew. Kekda was reportedly waiting outside Sidhu Moosewala’s home on May 29 and had passed on vital information to his foreign-based handlers.
Police sources said Kekda was the one to inform Goldy Brar and his team about Sidhu Moosewala driving his non-bulletproof Mahindra Thar car. He also told them about how many occupants are there in the car.
ADGP of the Anti-Gangster Task Force Promod Ban said Prabhdeep Sidhu alias Pabbi, had provided shelter to two associates of Goldy Brar, who had come from Haryana in January 2022. Pabbi also a recce done of Sidhu Moosewala’s home and surrounding areas, while Monu Dagar provided two shooters on the instructions of Goldy Brar.
Hours after he was cremated, the Punjab Police on last Tuesday had claimed to have arrested one of the culprits behind the murder of singer-politician Sidhu Moosewala.
The arrested was identified as Manpreet Singh Bhau and he was arrested from Uttarakhand. Bhau was produced before a court in Mansa.
The arrest had come on a day the Delhi Police took jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in its custody in connection with an Arms Act case and a day after the Special Cell of the Delhi Police interrogated Bishnoi inside the Tihar Jail over the murder of Sidhu Moosewala.
