A statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji was reportedly planned to be erected by BJP at the Ambedkar crossroad of Bodhan which raised objections by other parties-TRS & AIMIM-as they opposed the statute’s installation.

Nizamabad: Amid reports of clashes between political groups over a Shivaji statute on Sunday, Section 144 was imposed in Bodhan town of Telangana’s Nizamabad district. As per the reports, a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji was planned to be erected by BJP at the Ambedkar crossroad of Bodhan which raised objections by other parties-TRS & AIMIM-as they opposed the statute’s installation.
According to local BJP MP Arvind Dharmapuri, a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji was planned to be erected at the Ambedkar crossroad of Bodhan town that shares a border with Maharashtra. However, raising objections to the decision, he alleged that the AIMIM and TRS workers opposed to the statue’s installation.
BJP MP Arvind Dharmapuri, through his Twitter handle, Dharmapuri said, “The same crooked mindset..Demolish ours–Accomplish theirs! MIM and TRS goons trying to thwart the unveiling of the statue of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and destroy the statue set up at Bodhan Ambedkar Chowrasta accepted by a municipal resolution.”
In another tweet, he said, “How dare TRS MLA & followers demand for idol of Tippu sultan, the mass murderer of Dharmapuri said that the scuffle turned violent when the AIMIM and TRS supporters pitted against the BJP and Shiv Sena activists. Section 144 had to imposed to prohibit further escalation of the matter, he added.
In his third tweet, he said, “Now, the ruling party TRS’ counsellor openly threatening to disrupt law & order of the Bodhan town, if #ShivajiMaharaj’s idol is installed !
