Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is recovering after a shocking knife attack by an intruder at his Bandra home last night. The 54-year-old actor was rushed to Lilavati Hospital with at least six stab wounds, including a severe injury to his spine. Police are working to piece together the events that led to the attack in Khan’s 12-storey Bandra West residence, where he lives with his wife, actor Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their two sons.
The family’s multi-floor home is located in a high-profile building that houses several Bollywood celebrities.

Intruder’s Entry and Attack
According to police sources, the intruder entered the compound adjacent to Khan’s building before scaling a wall to gain access. Once inside, he used a rear staircase to reach Khan’s apartment via a fire escape. The first person to notice the intruder was the house help, Eliyama Phillipes alias Lima, who spotted his shadow around 2 AM and screamed for help.
Khan was alerted by the commotion and confronted the intruder, leading to a violent altercation. The attacker stabbed the actor six times before fleeing the scene. CCTV footage reportedly captured the intruder entering and exiting the building from the rear side. Police are currently questioning the house help and other individuals as part of the investigation.
Hospitalization and Medical Update
Dr. Nitin Dange of Lilavati Hospital provided details of Khan’s injuries and treatment. “Mr. Saif Ali Khan was admitted to the hospital around 2 AM with alleged history of assault by some unknown person. He sustained severe injuries to the thoracic spinal cord due to a lodged knife in the spine. Emergency surgery was performed to remove the knife and repair leaking spinal fluid. Two other deep wounds on his left hand and one other on his neck were repaired by the plastic surgery team,” Dr. Dange said.

“I am happy to confirm that Mr. Saif Ali Khan is completely stable now. He is recovering well and out of danger now,” he added.
Security Concerns and Police Investigation
The incident has raised questions about the security measures in the building and how the intruder managed to bypass them. Senior police officer Dixit Gedam confirmed that the suspect used the fire escape to enter the apartment. “So far, the investigation suggests that it was an attempted burglary. We are making every effort to arrest the accused as soon as possible. Once he is arrested, we will be able to disclose further details,” Gedam stated.
Police have identified a suspect, and multiple teams are working to apprehend him.
