Sidhu Moose Wala’s first song ‘SYL’ was released on Thursday. The song, written and sung by Moose Wala, was uploaded on his YouTube channel in the evening.
Bengaluru: In a rare gesture, Mumbai Ranji team batsman Sarfaraz Khan on Thursday celebrated his hundred by paying tribute to 28-year-old Punjabi Singer Sidhu Moose Wala who was killed by assailants on May 29.
Mumbai batsman remembered Moose Wala with teary eyes after smashing brilliant century against Madhya Pradesh in Ranji Trophy final match in Bengaluru. Khan brought up his ton off 190 balls on the second day of the final match.
Meanwhile, Sidhu Moose Wala’s first song ‘SYL’ was released on Thursday. The song, written and sung by Moose Wala, was uploaded on his YouTube channel in the evening. Video of the song was uploaded on YouTube by his team which was seen by millions of viewers in a short span of time.
SYL was the first song of Moose Wala which was uploaded on interned after his death. The song is based on Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal issue. The singer, through this song, has tried to highlight Punjab’s right over river waters and Sikh prisoners languishing in jails.

The song was allegedly leaked on Wednesday, a day before its release. His family has urged all music producers that they should not share or release any of his unfinished tracks with anyone except his father, Balkaur Singh.
On May 29, Punjabi Singer Sidhu Moose Wala was murdered a day after this security cover was removed by the Punjab government. Moosewala was driving the vehicle, a Mahindra Thar SUV, when the assailants fired at him. The attackers fired multiple rounds of bullets on the vehicles by intercepting the singer. The law enforcement agency had taken the car to the Mansa Police Station to carry out further investigation.

According to the reports, more than 30 rounds of bullets were fired to kill the 28-year-old singer whose security was trimmed a day before the attack. Even after firing several rounds of bullets, the attackers checked whether Moosewala was dead or not. The police had reportedly found a pistol in Moosewala’s vehicle too.
