Popular Punjabi singer and actor Rajvir Jawanda died on Wednesday morning after battling for life for nearly 12 days. The 35-year-old artiste was declared dead at 10:55 am at Fortis Hospital in Mohali, hospital authorities confirmed.
“Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda passed away at 10:55 AM on October 8, 2025, at Fortis Hospital, Mohali. He was admitted on September 27, 2025, in an extremely critical condition following a road accident that caused severe spinal injuries and brain damage,” Fortis Hospital said in an official statement.
“Despite extensive medical support and continuous monitoring by the Critical Care and Neurosurgery teams, he succumbed to multiple organ failure this morning,” the statement added.
Critical Condition After Road Accident
Jawanda had sustained severe head and spinal injuries on September 27 in a road accident near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, when his motorcycle collided with stray cattle that suddenly appeared on the road.
Doctors said Jawanda’s neurological condition remained critical throughout his treatment, with minimal brain activity and no significant improvement despite intensive medical care. He had been on life support since admission.

A resident of Sector 71, Mohali, Jawanda was widely loved for his hit songs such as “Surname”, “Kamla”, “Mera Dil”, and “Sardari”. He began his musical journey in 2014 with the single “Munda Like Me”, quickly rising to fame for his soulful voice and lyrics that celebrated Punjabi pride and culture.
He also made his mark in Punjabi cinema with roles in Jind Jaan, Mindo Taseeldarni, Kaka Ji, and Subedar Joginder Singh (2018). Jawanda hailed from Pona village in Ludhiana’s Jagraon and was known for his popular tracks including “Tu Dis Penda”, “Khush Reha Kar”, “Afreen”, “Landlord”, “Down to Earth” and “Kangani”.
The news of his untimely death has left fans and the Punjabi entertainment industry in shock and mourning. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had visited the hospital on Sunday to enquire about his health.
