The School of Eminence, Sector 32, Ludhiana that was inaugurated today has impressive building, smart classrooms, fully equipped laboratories, magnificent swimming pool, lawn tennis court, etc.
Kejriwal quoted the Punjab Chief Minister who recalled his childhood that how in those times used to go with a sack to school and used to take that sack back home (as there were no benches). “From there, how did we reach such a wonderful government school today in which we have children of labourers, children of farmers, children of rickshaw pullers, children of the poor, children of plumbers, children of electricians,” said the Delhi Chief Minister.
The AAP National Convenor said last year, one lakh children had applied for admission in the School of Eminence, their tests were conducted, and 8200 children were admitted. “Before the formation of our government, people sought a minister’s recommendation to get their child admitted in such and such private school, now they seek recommendation to get their child admitted in a school of eminence, or in a government school. And this is no small feat,” he said.
Expressing happiness over the inauguration of 165 mohalla clinics in Punjab yesterday, the Delhi Chief Minister said that now a mohalla clinic is being built in every corner of Punjab. “A lot of areas have been covered, some areas are left where construction is being done. God forbid if you get sick, don’t worry about the expense. There is Aam Aadmi Party government, Maan Saheb is there to take care of you. Earlier, all the leaders used to say that there is no money, the government is in loss. We have never said that there is no money. It’s only been two years that we have been doing everything, even electricity has been made free, so many mohalla clinics are being opened, treatment has been made free, so many wonderful schools are being built for your children. Where is the money coming from? The theft has stopped, earlier all the money used to go to their house, now all this money goes to you,” he said.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said that a wonderful School of Eminence was inaugurated in Indrapuri, Ludhiana. Mostly poor and middle-class people live in this area. This school has qualified teaching staff along with excellent classrooms, labs, tennis court, basketball court, swimming pool and playground for the children. Many children are studying here after getting their names removed from private schools. CM Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia had started programs like Happiness Classes, School of Eminence and Business Blasters for the education of children from Delhi. He said that in our times we used to go to school carrying a sack to sit (as there were no benches). Seeing such a wonderful school, we feel that we too wish we had studied in such a school. With the facilities that these children are getting here today, these children will go far ahead in their future. By getting such an environment, it becomes easier for children to understand what they have to do in the future.
