New Delhi: Making a scathing attack on BJP for not repeating 4 sitting MPs in Delhi for upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the AAP today condemned the BJP’s recurrent pattern of fielding incompetent candidates, only to disappear if they accidentally secure victory, and later staging a theatrical candidate change after five years. AAP leader and Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi highlighted that this strategy resulted in the replacement of four MPs in Delhi. Asserting Delhiites’ resilience against such ploys, she confidently spoke for the victory of the INDIA Alliance on all seats. She criticized the BJP’s decision to field Basuri Swaraj, who had previously defended anti-national forces in court. Urging for a reconsideration, she demanded the BJP to change its candidate for the upcoming elections.
Atishi said, “We have already revealed the truth about how the BJP has formed a pattern, first to give tickets to anyone in the elections. After that, if they accidentally win and then do not go among the people for 5 years and do no work, then in the next election, BJP says to fool the people that the party is not bad, the candidate was bad. That’s why this time the candidates are being changed.”
“The BJP has been doing this from MCD to Lok Sabha elections, and its blueprint can be seen in the list of BJP candidates released on Saturday. 4 out of 5 MPs have been changed in the BJP’s list. Meenakshi Lekhi from New Delhi, Ramesh Bidhuri from South Delhi, Parvesh Verma from West Delhi, and Dr. Harsh Vardhan from Chandni Chowk have not been given tickets this time. I want to tell the BJP that Delhiites are not going to be fooled by the BJP anymore. They have seen it. This message is not limited to just the candidates. The BJP always selects candidates who do not work for the people,” She added.

The AAP leader further further added that this time, the BJP has crossed all limits. Meenakshi Lekhi’s ticket from New Delhi has been cut and given to Swaraj, while she has repeatedly defended fugitive Lalit Modi in court, who has fled the country after embezzling lakhs of crores of rupees. From 2012 to 2014, she consistently defended Modi from lower courts to the high court to the Supreme Court, in the case of his passport. He fled with his passport before the Division Bench’s order came, and has not returned since. Not only that, Modi had also thanked Swaraj via tweet for fighting his case.
“When violence occurred in Manipur and 2 women were stripped and paraded, Bansuri Swaraj stood for the BJP-led central government in the Supreme Court. Today, she will go to ask for votes from women in the New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. When the Chandigarh Mayoral Elections were held and there was an attempt to vote theft, and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court called that election the murder of democracy, Bansuri Swaraj stood for the fake mayor from the BJP in the Supreme Court. Bansuri Swaraj should apologize to the country for those actions,” the Delhi Cabinet Minister said.
“Today, I want to tell the BJP on behalf of the people of Delhi that they should change the candidate from New Delhi, otherwise it will be revealed to the entire Delhi and the country that the BJP is anti-national, anti-women, and anti-democracy,” Atishi concluded.
