New Delhi: Following a stomach infection, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was admitted to a hospital in Delhi, sources close to him said on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Mann congratulated the Punjab Police for a successful operation against gangsters after two suspects in the Sidhu Moosewala murder were killed after an exchange of fire near Amritsar.
The gangsters were identified as Jagroop Singh Roopa and Manpreet Singh. The encounter came amid the Punjab Police tailing the two suspects. The shootout took place at the Bhakna village, 20 km from Amritsar.
Before the shootout ensued, the police asked all residents to stay indoors. While the police are yet to inform what happened to Mannu, they said as many as eight shooters were arrested from the spot.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had taken oath of office on March 16 this year after a massive victory of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Punjab Assembly polls. In a landslide victory for the Aam Aadmi Party in the more or less bipolar Punjab election, the party had managed to bag 92 of the 117 Assembly seats. In terms of vote share, AAP managed to bag around 42.01% votes, Congress has 22.98% and BJP has 6.6%. Meanwhile, Bhagwant Mann won from the Dhuri seat with a margin of 58,206 votes against Congress candidate Dalvir Singh Goldy.
