A shocking incident at Karachi in Pakistan has left the city reeling, as a young man reportedly killed his friend over a dispute involving a burger intended for his girlfriend.
According to reports from ARY News, the tragic incident occurred on February 8 in the Defence Phase 5 area of Karachi, sparking a detailed investigation by police authorities.
The investigation, now concluded, sheds light on the sequence of events that unfolded that fateful day. Allegedly, the conflict arose when the victim, identified as Ali Keerio, purportedly consumed a portion of a burger intended for the accused’s girlfriend. The accused, Daniyal, son of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nazir Ahmed Mirbahar, reacted furiously to the perceived transgression.
The inquiry revealed that Daniyal had invited his girlfriend, Shazia, to his residence, with Ali Keerio and his brother, Ahmer, also present. Ordering two burgers for himself and Shazia, Daniyal’s plans took a tragic turn when Keerio allegedly ate a portion of one of the burgers, triggering a heated confrontation.
In a shocking escalation, Daniyal seized a guard’s rifle and fired at Keerio, causing severe injuries that proved fatal despite medical intervention. Keerio succumbed to his wounds while undergoing treatment at a Karachi hospital.
Following a thorough investigation, the investigative officer submitted a detailed report to senior officials, holding Daniyal Nazeer responsible for the crime. Presently detained, Daniyal awaits trial in the court of law.

Comparatively, the corresponding period last year recorded 25 fatalities and 110 injuries due to resistance against robberies. The figures for 2023 were even more alarming, with 108 deaths and 469 injuries resulting from similar circumstances.
