Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday marked a significant milestone as he laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several development projects worth over Rs 19,600 crores in Chandikhole, Odisha.
The projects encompass various sectors, including oil and gas, railways, road, transport and highways and atomic energy, signalling a new era of growth and progress for the region.
In a spirited address to the gathered crowd, Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude to Lord Jagannath and Maa Birja, emphasizing the commencement of a fresh wave of development in Jajpur and Odisha. PM Modi paid homage to Biju Patnaik on his birth anniversary, acknowledging his unparalleled contribution to the nation and Odisha.

Highlighting the inauguration of mega development projects totalling approximately Rs 20,000 crores, Prime Minister Modi underscored their potential to invigorate industrial activities and generate employment opportunities. He commended the people of Odisha for their unwavering support towards these transformative initiatives.
Emphasizing the government’s commitment to addressing the nation’s present needs while fostering development, Prime Minister Modi outlined efforts to bolster the energy sector in Eastern states.

He elaborated on the Urja Ganaga Yojana, which aims to supply natural gas to five major states, including Odisha. The Prime Minister inaugurated a 344 km long product pipeline from Paradip in Odisha to Haldia in West Bengal, along with several other key projects aimed at revolutionizing industries in the region.
Drawing a sharp contrast between the current administration’s proactive approach and the previous government’s lackluster efforts, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the completion of long-pending projects, including the Paradip Refinery. He reiterated the government’s commitment to leveraging Eastern India’s abundant natural resources for Odisha’s development, citing initiatives such as the desalination plant in Ganjam district.

Prime Minister Modi stressed the importance of modern connectivity to boost Odisha’s economy, citing significant investments in national highways and railway infrastructure. He announced plans for expanding national highways in key districts and the inauguration of the Angul Sukinda railway line to stimulate growth in the Kalinga Nagar Industrial area.
Concluding his address, Prime Minister Modi paid homage to Biju Patnaik on his birth anniversary and extended congratulations to the citizens for the monumental development projects inaugurated today.
The event was attended by dignitaries including Governor of Odisha, Shri Raghubar Das, Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik, and Union Minister, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, among others.
The inauguration of these projects marks a significant step towards accelerating economic growth and development in Odisha, promising a brighter future for its citizens.
