Purnea: Making a scathing attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for siding with RJD to form a new ruling coalition in Bihar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said that the CM has betrayed the people of Bihar. He said that Kumar betrayed the mandate given by people of the state. In 2020 assembly polls, BJP-JDU coalition had got mandate to run the state but Nitish Kumar had in august this year had formed a new coalition with RJD by dumping BJP.
The former BJP president, while addressing a rally in Purnea, said that Nitish Kumar preferred to sit on Lalu’s lap just to fulfil his PM’s ambition. He asked that Nitish Kumar will become PM by betraying the mandate of the people. Shah is on two-day Bihar visit from Friday and was addressing a rally in bordering Purnea district.
Attacking Kumar for his decision to go ahead with Lalu Prasad’s party in the state, Shah said that people of Seemanchal, bordering districts of Bihar, will give proper reply to him in upcoming elections. He said that Kumar wanted to become Prime Minister by switching sides.
The BJP leader said that his party made him chief minister by showing nobility since Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised him the CM post. Now when Lok Sabha polls are scheduled next year he changed his side to fulfil his prime ministerial ambition. People of the state are about you and will reply to you.
Shah, who was on first visit to Bihar after breaking up with the JDU, said that after the formation of a new government, people of Bihar are feeling unsafe. “The day when the new government took oath, law and order situation deteriorated. The CM is saying that it is a conspiracy but who has stopped him from taking actions against conspirators,” added Shah.
