New Delhi: A day after cabinet reshuffle of West Bengal government, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday arrived New Delhi on a four-day visit. During her visit, she will be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu on Friday. As per the reports, the West Bengal Chief Minister, during her meeting with the Prime Minister, will discuss various range of issues mainly GST dues of the states.
The West Bengal CM will also meet her party MPs to discuss issues related to current session of the Parliament. As per the reports, the TMC chief is likely to discuss roadmap for 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
On Friday, the meeting is also scheduled with the President of India Droupadii Murmu. During the meeting, Banerjee will be extending her greetings to the newly elected President. Besides this, she will also attend a Niti Aayog meeting on August 7. According to the sources, Mamata Benrjee will also meet opposition to discuss several issues.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had on Wednesday inducted five newcomers into the cabinet and the biggest name among them was former Union minister of BJP Babul Supriyo. The singer-politician had joined the Trinamool Congress last year.
The others who were allotted seats in the cabinet are Snehashish Chakraborty, Partha Bhowmik, Udayan Guha and Pradip Majumder. Chakraborty is TMC’s state spokesperson and handles the Hooghly district unit. Bhowmik is a three-time MLA from the Naihati Assembly seat while Guha, who was a Forward Bloc leader, had joined the TMC in 2016.
While announcing the expansion on Tuesday, Banerjee had said, “We have lost ministers Subrata Mukherjee and Sadhan Pande and Partha is in jail so their work has to be done too. Not possible for me alone to do it all.”
