Preserving the Legacy of Our Ancestors
Highlighting the historical importance of Lugu Buru, Soren said, “Our ancestors established a system here that we have followed faithfully for generations. We can never forget their contribution in building a better and more organized Santal society.” He reiterated that the state government is deeply committed to preserving and promoting the tribal community’s culture, customs, and traditions.
Calling Lugu Buru Ghantabari a sacred center of immense faith, the Chief Minister said the government is improving the infrastructure of the pilgrimage site to ensure maximum comfort and facilities for devotees, including those coming from foreign countries. “This spiritual site is steadily earning recognition on the global map,” he added.

Soren stressed the need for environmental conservation, saying, “The tribal community has always safeguarded nature, but in the race for development, our water, forests, and land are depleting rapidly. This poses a serious threat to our environment.” He warned that unless strong efforts are made for conservation, society will have to face dire consequences.
He invoked the struggles of Birsa Munda, Sidho, and Kanhu, who fought for jal, jungle, and zameen (water, forest, and land), and urged people to adopt social norms for environmental protection and strictly follow them.
India’s Strength Lies in Unity Amid Diversity’
Soren said India’s greatness lies in its religious and cultural diversity. “People from different religions and faiths live together, respecting and honoring each other’s traditions. This unity makes us special,” he said. “Religion does not grow through one individual—it is strengthened collectively, and it gives us social strength.”
