Arshad, a 24-year-old man accused of brutally murdering his mother and four sisters at a hotel in Lucknow, has claimed in a chilling video that he committed the crime to protect his sisters from being trafficked. The video, which surfaced hours after the incident, contains detailed allegations against neighbors and land mafia from his hometown of Budaun.
The victims have been identified as Arshad’s mother, Asma, and his sisters Alia (9), Alshia (19), Aksa (16), and Rahmeen (18). According to police, Arshad confessed to choking them and slitting their wrists. The crime took place at Hotel Sharanjit in Lucknow’s Naka area. Deputy Commissioner of Police Raveena Tyagi stated that Arshad was apprehended at the crime scene.
The Alleged Motive
In the video, Arshad alleged that neighbors and land mafia had forcibly taken over the family’s house in Budaun and were planning to traffick his sisters.
“Our family has taken this step due to harassment by people in the neighborhood. I have killed my mother and sisters. When police get this video, they must know that the locals are responsible. They harassed us to capture our house,” Arshad said in the video.

He further claimed that the family had been living on the streets for 15 days due to the dispute. Arshad named several individuals, accusing them of being involved in land grabbing and trafficking.
The man went on to address Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He lauded the two leaders and said he wanted to change his religion because of the atrocities allegedly meted out to him and his families. He also told Yogi and Modi that “not all Muslims are the same”, adding, some indulge in illegal activities.
Desperate Plea for Justice
Arshad appealed to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for justice. “We approached many people for help, but they did not help us. Now my sisters are dying, and I will die in a short while. But no family in India should be forced to do this,” he said.
He also alleged that false accusations of being Bangladeshis were used against the family.
Shocking Revelations
The video showed Arshad explaining his actions in graphic detail. “I killed them with my father. What choice did I have? See them being sold in Hyderabad?” he said. He said he had planned to die by suicide but was apprehended before he could act.
Arshad’s disturbing statement included a request for the family’s land to be converted into a temple and their belongings to be donated to an orphanage.
Investigation Underway
Police have launched a detailed investigation into the matter. Forensic teams have collected evidence from the crime scene. Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime and Headquarters) Babloo Kumar stated that inquiries were being conducted with hotel staff, and findings would be shared as they emerge.
Authorities are also examining the video to verify its authenticity.
The horrific incident has sent shockwaves across the community, with demands for swift action and justice. The case highlights the alleged nexus between land mafia and local authorities, as well as the extreme measures families may resort to under duress.
