New Delhi: Chandan Jindal, a student from Punjab’s Barnala, died of brain stroke. Jindal was a 22-year-old fourth-year medical student of Pyrogov Memorial Medical University at Vinnytsia in Ukraine.
According to reports, Jindal had suffered a brain stroke on February 2 and his family got the information on February 3 following which, his father and his uncle had travelled to Ukraine. Later, when the war broke out, his uncle travelled back to India.
According to sources, Jindal suffered from an ischemic stroke. His father, Shishir Kumar Jindal, has now written to the government of India to help him take back his son’s body to India.
District authorities back in Barnala said they received information about Jindal’s death through the Ministry of External Affairs and they are in touch with his family to bring back his body.
The death comes a day after a student from Karnataka had died in Russian shelling in Ukraine’s capital of Kharkiv. The student, identified as Naveen S G, 21, was studying medical.
