The ICC has approved a hybrid model for the Champions Trophy 2025, dividing matches between Pakistan and the UAE. This arrangement, finalized after discussions between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), aims to address logistical and geopolitical challenges while ensuring smooth tournament planning.

Tournament Overview 

  • Pakistan: Hosts 10 matches, including key games and one semi-final.
  • UAE: Hosts India’s three group-stage matches, including the highly anticipated clash against Pakistan, one semi-final, and the final (if India qualifies).
  • Final Venue Contingency: If India does not qualify for the final, it will be played in Lahore.

Where will ICC Champions Trophy matches be held?

Semi-final 1 will feature India if they qualify. Semi-final 2 will feature Pakistan if they qualify. The final will be held in Dubai if India qualifies; otherwise, it will remain in Lahore.

Meanwhile, Pakistan enters the tournament as defending champions, having won the 2017 Champions Trophy against India. In the final, Fakhar Zaman’s century and Mohammed Amir’s top-order demolition secured a commanding victory.
