Hyderabad: A 17-year-old girl on Friday alleged that she was gang raped by MLA’s son and five others in a Mercedes car, said Hyderabad Police, adding that all the five accused are minors. According to a senior police official, the police have registered a case against unknown persons based on a complaint by the girl’s father.
Meanwhile, BJP members staged protest at a city police station demanding immediate arrest of accused persons as police have to make arrest in this case. BJP leader P Muralidhar Rao tweeted, “Heinous gangrape of teenager in #Hyderabad is condemnable beyond words. No arrest in the incident despite case being registered shows the inaction of police where culprits have political links, Is police waiting for clearance from Owaisi or KCR to make arrest??”
“The incident took place on Saturday. Initially, a case was booked under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against the three accused involved in the incident,” he said.
“The 17-year-old girl was sent for medical examination and police have now altered the case and added section 376 (gang rape) of the IPC to it,” police said.
“MLA’s son and the chairman of a minority board were present at the party and had accompanied the girl. The victim was able to identify and name only one accused, who is also a minor,” police said.
The victim’s father said that the girl was asked to join the accused in a Mercedes car. According to the FIR filed by the victim’s father, the accused misbehaved with his daughter and even inflicted injuries on her neck. The police further said that the investigation is underway.
