Hyderabad: A third person, a juvenile, was arrested by the police in connection with the gang-rape of the 17-year-old girl in the Jubilee Hills area of Hyderabad last week. Among the three held till now, two are juveniles. A total of five persons were accused of gang-raping the minor.
“In continuation (with) arrest of accused Saduddin Malik, two children in conflict with law were apprehended by Jubilee Hills police today (Saturday). They are being produced before Juvenile Court for custody,” the police said. Malik is the son of a VIP, the police confirmed, but said they won’t reveal the name.

The victim’s father said that the girl was asked to join the accused in a Mercedes car. According to the FIR filed by the victim’s father, the accused misbehaved with his daughter and even inflicted injuries on her neck. The police further said that the investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, a CCTV footage showed the girl standing with the accused. The boys then reportedly offered to drop her home but instead, she was assaulted inside a car that was parked when they took turns to rape her while the others stood guard.
Police have also said there is no truth in the rumours that the home minister’s son-in-law is involved in the gang rape. “Among the five culprits who were identified, three are minors,” deputy commissioner of Telangana Police (West Zone) Joel Davis said.
