London: The United Kingdom has provisionally recorded the highest-ever temperature at 40.2°C. The high temperature was recorded at Heathrow Airport. Earlier in the morning, Charlwood, Surrey recorded 39.1°C.

SMHI also issued yellow warnings for high temperatures of between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius (86 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit) in south central Sweden for Wednesday and Thursday. More specifically, in inner and eastern Götaland, inner Svealand, southeastern Norrland and on Gotland.
Meanwhile, at least two people have died and about 8,000 people have been evacuated so far as wildfires burn across Spain, said Isabel Rodríguez, Spain’s government spokesperson.
“Two people have died, a firefighter and a farmer. There are some people seriously injured,” Rodríguez told the media after a cabinet meeting in Madrid.
