Residents of the Galaxy Vega Society in Greater Noida West staged a protest against the Galaxy Vega Apartment Owners Association (GVAOA). The demonstration, which saw large participation, was a response to the association’s failure to hold elections after the term of its current executive ended, as well as the pressure being exerted on residents to pay pending maintenance charges.
The term of the current GVAOA executive officially ended on January 7, 2025. However, the election process for a new executive has yet to begin, leading to growing frustration among residents. Additionally, the association’s president has been pressuring residents to pay maintenance charges that have been pending for seven years.
This situation is further complicated by a past dispute, where the current president had previously accused the builder of breaching promises and urged residents to stop maintenance payments. As a result, over ₹5 crore in maintenance funds were withheld due to incomplete work by the builder. Now, the same president is pressuring residents, alongside the builder, to pay these pending charges despite the unfinished work, according to reports.

In a recent meeting, residents unanimously decided to withhold further maintenance payments until the builder completes the remaining work. They also called on the Deputy Registrar’s Office to intervene and initiate the election process promptly, ensuring a new executive is formed.
Hemchand Tiwari, former president of the GVAOA, emphasized the injustice of the situation, stating, “In the first year, a list of pending works was prepared with the builder, which remains incomplete to this day. Despite this, the current executive and the builder are demanding maintenance charges from the residents, which is completely unfair.”
