Amit Shah said that it is only the BJP, which has honoured Baba Saheb and the SCs in an unprecedented way.
Thiruvananthapuram: Making a blatant attack on Congress, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that the party is on the verge of extinction in India. Shah, who was addressing the southern zonal council meeting in Kerala, said that BJP was the future of the southern states and that the world was ‘getting rid of communist parties’.
“Congress is on the verge of extinction from India and the communist party is on the verge of extinction from the world. In Kerala, only the BJP party has a future. The Congress party and the Communists never worked for the welfare of the Scheduled Tribes. They treated them as mere vote bank,” said Shah.
“When we formed the govt with full majority, we made Kovind Ji, a Dalit, the President of India. In our second term, we helped Smt Droupadi Murmu Ji, who hails from an ST community, to become the President of India. Baba Saheb Ambedkar was not conferred Bharat Ratna during the rule of Congress. It was only when Congress was voted out that he was conferred with the Bharat Ratna. In the remembrance of Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Panch Teerth has been built by the PM Modi-led govt,” he said.
Amit Shah added that it is only the BJP, which has honoured Baba Saheb and the SCs in an unprecedented way. Apart from bestowing him with the Bharat Ratna, Modi-led government has developed five sites associated with the significant life events of BR Ambedkar, as ‘Panch Teerth’.
“In the last 8 years the Modi government has worked for the welfare of the SCs and STs people. Five crore gas connections have been given, and around 1.11 crore people of SCs and STs have been given homes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special affinity for South India, that’s why after becoming Prime Minister in 2014, Modi government launched various schemes for the development of South Indian states,” the Home Minister said.
