In a devastating incident, five soldiers of the Indian Army lost their lives during a river-crossing exercise near the Line of Actual Control in Leh’s Daulat Beg Oldi area. The accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, around 1 am, according to officials.
Among the deceased is a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), reflecting the gravity of the loss. The soldiers were on a training mission, maneuvering their T-72 tank across the Bodhi River near Mandir Morh, approximately 148 kilometers from Leh. Suddenly, the water levels surged, submerging the tank and the soldiers within moments.
