New Delhi: Vaibhav Gupta became the Indian Idol 14 winner during the thrilling grand finale of the popular singing reality show held on Sunday.
Alongside the prestigious trophy, Vaibhav was awarded a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh and a brand-new car. Triumphing over five other finalists – Adya Mishra, Ananya Pal, Piyush Panwar, Subhadeep Das and Anjana Padmanabhan – Vaibhav emerged as the season’s champion.
In an interview to a media outlet, following his victory, Vaibhav expressed his aspirations to venture into playback singing for Bollywood luminaries such as Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Vicky Kaushal, stating, “I want to do playback singing for Salman Khan, Vicky Kaushal, and Ranveer Singh now. I will try my best that this happens someday,” underscoring his determination.
Reflecting on his win, Vaibhav said, “This win has made me more focused now. It has become an added responsibility, and now I want to give the fans even better.”
He further revealed his plan to utilize the winning amount to establish his dream studio, envisioning it as a space to create music aligned with his artistic vision, and expressed his intent to produce music videos for the audience.
Recollecting a standout moment from the show, Vaibhav, who became the Indian Idol 14 winner, fondly reminisced, “With the love and appreciation I was getting, I was hopeful that I could win this. Especially, when Mahesh Bhatt whistled for me, I loved that moment. I keep playing it in my head.”
The grand finale of this season was marked by a spectacular celebration, with renowned singer Sonu Nigam gracing the event as the special guest of the night. Contestants Subhadeep Das Chowdhury and Piyush Panwar secured the positions of first and second runners-up respectively, each receiving a cheque of Rs 5 lakh. Ananya Pal claimed the title of third runner-up, also receiving a cheque of Rs 3 lakh.
